Movement for Your Body & Brain

ABOUT

Hey there! I’m Shea, and I’m on a mission. I want to show you what happens to your brain when you move your body. I want you to know what it’s like to feel strong and confident.

It takes time, effort, and consistency, but I can guide you there.

Through a mixture of exercise science, neuroscience, strength training, yoga, mobility practice, breath work, and meditation, I’ll take you on a journey to the powerful intersection of physical movement and mental health.

I offer public classes and private lessons for folks, as well as continuing education workshops for teachers and trainers. Find out more about my offerings by clicking here.

EXPERIENCE + EDUCATION

We all know that there are substantial physical benefits of getting regular exercise, but research also shows that along with meditation and mindfulness, exercise can help mentally fortify us against stress, enhance cognition and memory, improve mood long-term, and decrease anxiety and depression. I have experienced first hand the psychological benefits that a regular movement practice can have, and I’ve gotten to witness the transformative effect it can have on others over the last decade as I’ve taught thousands of public classes, along with private lessons, teacher trainings, and workshops.

Teaching and my interest in research led me to formally study human movement and the brain. I have a degree in exercise science, a minor in neuroscience, and experience working in a kinesiology lab as a research assistant. I’m also an E-RYT and YACEP with the Yoga Alliance, and a certified Lagree Trainer.

Staying on the forefront of research along with years of teaching and education allows me to offer safe and effective classes that fuse together the best parts of different modalities, while meeting you exactly where you’re at as we work towards your goals.
